eazyplex® hv-K. pneumoniae now IVDR!

EMM Life Science can offer the test eazyplex® hv-K. pneumoniae from Amplex Diagnostics.
The new eazyplex® hvKp kit is IVDR and can detect genes for hypervirulence in K. pneumoniae in just a few minutes eazyplex® hv-K. pneumoniae

  • IVDR
  • No DNA extraction required
  • Results within 20 minutes, direct from the colony.

To minimize the risks to public health, effective surveillance of potentially hypervirulent strains of K. pneumoniae is crucial to detect spread and possible outbreaks .

In an article from February 2024, the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) notes that the emergence of K. pneumoniae isolates with combined hypervirulence and resistance to last-line antibiotics such as carbapenems is worrying because hvKp strains, unlike “classical” K. pneumoniae strains, can cause serious infections in healthy individuals. Among other things, the ECDC recommends that it is important to detect hvKp early and prevent further spread in healthcare settings.
