The test is based on 3 steps:

1. Pretreatment: GINA

2. PCR: Screening for bacteria (16S rDNA) and fungi (28S rDNA) and resistance genes. Severa types of cycles can be used

3. Identification: Positive test transfers to Hybell-cassettes. Microorganisms and resistance genes identified and results presented.
